August 27, 2020 -- KWAA recently sent a letter to the Thirtieth Judicial Nominating Commission encouraging the Commission to consider the demographic representation of the Thirtieth District's bench when deliberating nominations to fill the vacancy created by Judge McQuin's retirement. The letter can be viewed here. Enclosed with the letter was a copy of The Gavel Gap: Who Sits in Judgment on State Courts, issued by the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy. 

The action was recommended by KWAA's Public Policy and Gender committee and furthers KWAA's mission to promote the efficient administration of justice and the constant improvement of the law and to promote equality and social justice for all people.
